About ICMST
The fourth International Conference on Maintenance Science and Technology (ICMST 2018) will take place from October 23 (Tue.) to 26 (Fri.) 2018 at "Sakura Hall" on Tohoku University Katahira campus in Miyagi, Japan. The last three ICMST conferences were successfully held at the University of Tokyo, Japan (2012), Kobe University, Japan (2014) and Tsinghua University, China (2016), respectively. The conference will be an international forum for presentations and discussions on important issues relating to maintenance and for the exchange of up-to-date information on advanced maintenance technologies for nuclear power plants. Maintenance Science and Technology is an engineering discipline that provides a basis for scientifically rational maintenances. The discipline optimizes maintenance activities from the viewpoints of safety and economics. After the Fukushima's accident, the credibility of nuclear safety has been an important issue worldwide. This conference will provide an opportunity to consider the contribution of maintenance activities to the safety management of the operation of nuclear power plants through thoughtful discussions. Oral and poster sessions will be held.
ICMST2018 is organized by Organizing Committee of ICMST-Tohoku2018, and co-organized by Japan Society of Maintenology, Institute of Fluid Science, Tohoku University, Center for Fundamental Research on Nuclear Decomissioning, and Tohoku-Hokkaido Branch, Japan Society of Maintenology.
ICMST2018 is sponsored by Sendai Tourism, Convention and International Association, Intelligent Cosmos Academic Fundation, and The Kajima Foundation, and supported by The Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, The Society of Materials Science, Japan, The Japanese Society for Non-Destructive Inspection, Engineering Advancement Association of Japan, Japan Welding Society, Japan Society of Civil Engineers, The Society of Instrument and Control Engineers, Human Interface Society, The Institute of Systems, Control and Information Engineers, Japan Society of Corrosion Engineering, The Japan Welding Engineering Society, Thermal and Nuclear Power Engineering Society, Japan Nuclear Safety Institute, Japan Power Engineering and Inspection Corporatin, The Japanese Association for Non-destructive Testing Industry, Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance, The Japan Electric Association, Japanese Society of Tribologists, Electric Power Civil Engineering Association, Japan Atomic Energy Agency, The Society of Plant Engineers Japan, The Japan Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences, The Iron and Steel Institute of Japan, The Japan Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, The Society of Chemical Engineers, Japan.
Prospective authors are invited to submit papers describing original research work in areas including but not limited to:
